Sports Science

Sports Science Statement by Mag. Herbert Laux for the Youtels Fottball Camp:

The Youtels football camp offers technology-oriented football training modules with additional sports- and special-interest content such as slack-line training, climbing and other sports. From a sports science point of view, this variety allows very valuable basic skills to be taught. It thus helps to provide a solid foundation in football excellence

but also builds an important pillar for lasting health of the whole musculoskeletal system. We believe that early

specialization prohibits participants from acquiring, maintaining and developing many important skills.

Two training sessions a day in a football training camp often lead to severe fatigue so that performance and capacity

for technical training and motor skills are lost after 2 or 3 days. To avoid this overload, Youtels camps provide a high

quality 2-hour football training session and a good dose of fun and variety through other games and sports.

Herbert Laux was a long time professional player at Austria Salzburg, SV Ried, and Steyr as a striker/forward. He now

operates with his team as a sports scientist in his studio in Salzburg for physiotherapy, rehabilitation and training and works with many athletes and sports clubs. His current work focuses on the medical exercise therapy, health management &

coaching, and deficit management and training strategy.
